The College Interview
Some colleges may require or offer a virtual or in-person interview. While this process may be daunting at first, Donovan Lane feels this opportunity is a wonderful chance to showcase the unique parts of yourself. Drs. Dunne and Walter coach clients through this process and leave our clients feeling confident and ready to speak on their own behalf.
To be a successful interview candidate is a tremendously important life skill, and Donovan Lane is here to help you prepare and present your best self. Our approach includes using relaxation strategies along with preparation and practice to keep your student calm and centered in the process.
We help students collect and organize information about specific schools they will interview with. We help students learn the traditions and culture of specific schools so that they will be able to reference those in the interview. Donovan Lane also presents our clients with typical questions that are asked during the interview so that students are prepared with anecdotes and answers to draw from.
We coach our clients to arrive well-dressed and early for the session, keep in mind the main points to get across, and then craft thank you emails to follow up with and touch on some points of connection. Again, Donovan Lane knows how important this skill is as our young adults grow and enter a professional work environment. We teach our clients to thrive and be confident in their abilities to promote themselves - a process that may be entirely new.
